Le Comité Ministériel chargé du suivi de la pandémie de Covid 19: prise en compte de la Semaine Nationale de la Vaccination

The Ministerial Committee responsible for monitoring COVID-19 stresses the need to take the necessary measures to make National Vaccination Week a success as the Covid-19 cases are increasing in Mauritania according to the Health Ministry.

His Excellency Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal Massoud chaired this Tuesday, at the Prime Ministry in Nouakchott, a meeting of the Ministerial Committee responsible for monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic.

This meeting is part of the monitoring of the implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, relating to the permanent care of the health of citizens.

On the agenda the following items:

Preparation for National Vaccination Week which will begin on Thursday May 12, 2022;

Discuss the report on the implementation of the Special Fund for Social Solidarity and the Fight against COVID-19 over the past two months.

With regard to the first point, the committee reviewed the preparations underway for the organization of the National Vaccination Week throughout the national territory, and the various activities planned to achieve the desired objectives.

In this context, he stressed the need to take all necessary measures to make this process a success, so that the greatest number of citizens can obtain initial or booster doses. To this end, the committee has focused on the implementation of a broad awareness campaign at national and local levels, with the participation of various media and social networks, as well as civil society actors.

On the second point, the committee discussed at length the report for two months of execution of the Special Fund for Social Solidarity and the Fight against COVID-19 and approved it; and it decided to refer it to the National Committee responsible for monitoring its implementation, in accordance with the requirements of Decree No. 66-2020 of May 4, 2020.
